Streaks keep the rhythm, not a perfect year
March 23, 2026
Health gains come from week after week, not from a spotless calendar.
CDC often splits 150 minutes as 30 minutes on five days. Showing up most days matters more than one long session and a quiet week.
Regular walking is linked with less heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, some cancers, and fewer depressive symptoms. Those gains do not require weight loss first.
A rest day does not erase the habit. The next day decides whether the momentum stays.
A streak is only a reminder that you showed up. Do not keep it because you are afraid of breaking a number.
Look at the week, not the year. One more honest day than yesterday is enough to start again.
